¿Que sería un blog de música sin el clásico debate de que es y que no es EMO?. Pues aquí va mi reflexión:
Creo que todas las personas que conozco y que se intresan por el tema estan de acuerdo en que el Emo es rock alternativo muy melódico y con sentimiento que se hizó a finales de los 90 por grupazos como Jimmy Eat World y Sunny
Day Real State. Este es el emo de verdad.
Esto ha ido degenerando en un estilo que recoge parcialmente el emo, pero le da mas vidilla y es mas rápido, lo que ha suscitado el interés de adolescentes. A partir de estos grupos anteriormente mencionados, aprecen grupos (o se hacen famosos en esta época) como My
Chemical Romance, luego al parecer la gente descubre a AFI, y de estos dos grupos sale una mezcla superchunga de chavales que se pintan como AFI, y visten como los hardcoretas de los 90 ( los de los pantalones apretados, no los que enseñaban los gallumbos) con toques de punk, pero se peinan como the cure. Total: Punk+ siniestro + glam= EMO (nuevo), es decir, un desastre.
La verdad es que yo esto si que lo consideraría movimiento. Me jode decirlo, pero por lo menos mucha gente en todo el mundo sigue unas pautas parecidas. Además cada década aparece un nuevo movimiento adolescente, y mirando el calendario, esta es claramente la década de los EMO.
La conclusion que saco de todo esto es que no se les debería llamar EMO a los chavales pintaos y con peinados raros (como se hace hoy en día), pero el uso hace el lenguaje y cuando ves a un tío con una camiseta de Jimmy eat world no lo llamas EMO (como debería ser), calificarás de EMO a los flequillos y las pinturas.
Total que a sabiendas que no son EMO seguiremos llamandoles EMO para entenderos con los demás, aunque he intentado explicarle esto a la gente. A mi peluqero le pregunté si venía mucha gente a cortarse el flequillo en plan raro (para no tener que usar la palabre EMO), a lo que él me contestó:
- Si que me han venido unos cuantos emos".
Yo intenté explicarle todo esto que acabo de hacer ahora y el tío parecía que me entendió, hasta que los volvió a nombrar como emos y lo dejé estar.
Esto lo que dice es que nos guste o no, tenemos que llamarlos EMO.

Tengo que añadir que por aqui esta bastante extendida la calificación de Emorroide a todo ser despreciable con flequillito, ojos negros, sintomas de suicidio y todo lo demás y Emo al autentico y genuino (JEW, Get up kids...)Además así es mas facil para todos...
Estoy de acuerdo contigo. Por mi parte aporto el triste y vergonzoso hecho de que hay gente que conozco que se considera emo y luego te los encuentras escuchando "el canto del loco", "pignoise" y basuras mierdosas del estilo...Y luego les hablas de JEW o Get up kids -como ya habéis nombrado- y no se enteran ni de lo que vale el peine con el que peinan su más que estandarizado flequillo tapa ojos.

Los emos son una especie degenerada, adolescentes con pocos huevos para actuar y muchos para hablar de gilipolleces, normalmente de familias adineradas con poco intelecto, mucho tiempo libre, internet y poca cultura.
Son como los nazis y cosas de estas. A mi me sale mi hijo Emo y lo desheredo de mi apellido, y por consiguiente lo tiro fuera de casa.
PD: Me gustaria que mi cesped fuera emo, para que se cortara solo.
Lo que no entiendo yo es por qué resultan tan irritantes a tanta gente.

Exacto!!! son unos toyacos del emo, pero imaginate que la gente solo considera raperos a los toyacos. Pues eso pasa con los emos, yo tampoco sabia por que la gente les tiene mania, pero parece ser que les copian el estilo a los punkettos y a los darkettos. Y eso se paga caro.
Si que ha cambiado la cosa desde que hace años se empezo a oir la etiqueta emotional hard-core.
en lo que se refiere al estilo, yo creo que eso pasa desde siempre: el punk siempre habia sido ramones y sex pistols y cuando salieron offspring y green day se les describio como punk, y los punks viejos se indignaron, y lo mismo paso con esta generacion cuando salio simple plan y good charlotte. Yo le encuentro bastante sentido al hecho de que a los emos actuales (panic at the disco, fall out boy) se les llame emo, puesto que tienen bastante en comun con la anterior generacion (jimmy eat world, get up kids) solo que se han popcomercializado. yo creo que han mezclado el sonido de jimmy eat world con el de blink, simple plan y tal. bastante comprensible pues seguro que era eso lo que escuchaban los nuevos emos cuando empezaron a componer. vaya rollo he soltao
A mi, matizo, no me irritan los emos como tales, sino que la gente tenga una idea errónea de lo que son y se guíen sólo por su pelo o cualquiero otra caracterísitca física. A quienes tendría que irritar solamente serían los antiguos emos, porque los nuevos han cambiado la forma de expresión de ese concepto.
Con respecto a la música, creo que los estilos evolucionan inevitablemente, y entiendo que los antiguos emos se sientan ofendidos (por decirlo de alguna manera) al ver su estilo modificado, pero es algo necesario para crear una nueva corriente musical y no estancarse siempre en lo mismo.
yo tengo una especie de teoria sobre los emos. La musica que ellos llaman emo es una mezcla de muchos estilos con una base pop o emo de verdad, pero tb hay riffs metaleros, estribillos pop y cosas hardcore, e incluso ochenteras. Pero no solo son un compendio de cosas en lo musical tb lo son en su aspecto, ya que de cintura para bajo parecen punks del 77 y de cintura para arriba una mezcla de Eduardo Manostijeras con punk MTV.
Vale que es preciso que haya cambios en los estilos, pero este sera tan pasajero como vacio!!
Los emos deberian pensar esto: si yo voy vestido de Napoleon por la calle pensaran que esoy loco por que voy yo solo, pero si lo hacen millones de personas a la vez nos llamarian los Napos y la musica que escuchesemos deria Napocore.

El emo empezó siendo Punk y post-hardcore nacido en Washington en la década de los 80. Grupos como 7 seconds.

Buenas tardes, sientendo mi interrupción. Pero respondiendo a un comentario que he leido por ahí, yo creo que no soy una especie degenerada con pocos huevos.. Vale me da igual lo que penseis y lo que digais luego pero a pesar de ser como soy sigo siendo la mas inteligente de la clase, con familia adinerada, si ¿y qué? tengo mucha cultura y he visitado casi todos los contienentes [menos la Antartida] tengo internet en casa pero lo utilizo para poca cosa, buscar cosas como problemas de logica de matematicas y cosas así. Bueno nose.. a mi me gustaba el estilo y la musica por eso deje de ser la estúpida pija tipica de papa para ser emo, y la verdad me senti mejor.Y dejando a parte lo que diga la gente yo prefiero sentirme mejor conmigo misma que tener que ser una mas del montón que tiene el idealismo ''barbie'' y que no saben apreciar las emociones, ni el amor, ni la tristeza.. ni lo que guarda una lagrima.
